Frequently asked questions
Is Notra HIPAA compliant?
Notra Labs, LLC is a Business Associate under HIPAA. Your practice (or employing covered entity) is the Covered Entity. Sign a BAA with Notra Labs, LLC before using real patient visits. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. This is not a substitute for your Notice of Privacy Practices.
How long do you keep visit recordings?
We delete the visit recording 60 days after the visit. The note, transcript, and codes stay on your account until you delete them. You can delete a single note or your account at any time.
Can I buy the subscription in the App Store?
No. Subscriptions are sold on the website only. The iPhone app is a free companion for clinicians who already have access (trial, paid, or complimentary). It does not include in-app purchase or links to checkout. Manage billing from Account on the website.
Does this connect to my EHR?
Not yet. Review the note in Notra, then copy the note and suggested ICD-10 / CPT codes into your chart.
What if I lose my authenticator app?
Use a backup code at sign-in. Each backup code works once. If those are gone too, contact support from this page. We will verify your identity before resetting MFA. Do not include patient information.
Why was I signed out?
On the web, 30 minutes without activity signs you out (recordings in progress are not interrupted). Signing out or timing out on the web does not sign you out of the iPhone app. On iPhone you should only need email, password, and authenticator (when required) once a day. Face ID may ask again the next day, and it will not interrupt a recording.
Should I include patient details in a support request?
No. Describe the problem (about when it happened, which device, what you tapped). Never send names, MRNs, dates of birth, visit audio, or note text.
